Alumina / Al2O3 is an excellent electrical insulator and one of the most widely used advanced ceramic materials. Additionally, it is extremely resistant to wear and corrosion. Silicon carbide / SiC, exceedingly hard, synthetically produced crystalline compound of silicon and carbon. Its chemical formula is SiC. Additionally, its low thermal conductivity and high wear resistance make it an excellent material that can withstand the toughest of conditions in the most demanding industrial applications.
